Release It is once again time to celebrate America's independence at the Shiloh Amphitheater with the 12th annual Fourth of July show in Kalona, IA. "American Journeys" is a 1-hour musical production and fireworks display that honors our remarkable nation. Through music, dance and song, the show celebrates the dreams of freedom as people of distant lands came to America and were welcomed with open arms. This whimsical celebration follows the country roads, through the flourishing cities, and on to the coast - making its own American journey. Cast and crew from many artistic fields have collaborated to create this show. Original choreographed dances and scores of music are put together with beautiful vocals and set designs to make this American tribute. Every year, the creators of this show write, compose, construct, cast and rehearse this show in Los Angeles, CA. The show is then moved to Iowa where the sets are assembled, the lighting is set, and final rehearsals are held. Approximately 150 people are involved in the creation of this production, most of them on a volunteer basis. After much preparation, the show is performed for an audience of 3,000 to 4,000 guests. The show ends with a spectacular musical fireworks display presented by the Richmond Shooters. "American Journeys"
will take place Wednesday, July 3rd due to other local activities scheduled
for the 4th. In case of rain on Wednesday, an alternative show is scheduled
for Thursday, July 4th. |
