Fireworks Show and Family Fun in Kalona, Iowa
An Independence Day Tribute to Our Nation

Kalona, IA – June 28, 2011 – We are proud to present the Shiloh Amphitheater’s 21st Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular! Join us as we celebrate and honor those who fought and continue to fight for the freedom of our great nation. Bring the whole family to enjoy an evening of fireworks and songs!

The faithful crew has gathered once again to pull together the fireworks show you’ve come to know and love. This year, in addition, the producers of the show have teamed up with Shiloh and the local community to create a wonderful afternoon of family festivities. There will be concessions, activities and music.

From 4:00 to 8:30 PM we will have food for sale, balloon animals and face painting stations! La Michoacana Taco truck will have a variety of Mexican food and the Washington County Cattlemen Association will be joining us with delicious barbeque for sale. All of the proceeds made by the Cattlemen Association will go towards agricultural scholarships for youth in Washington County.

Starting at 7:00 PM there will be live music by bands from both Kalona and Los Angeles. Several of the musicians have performed all over the world and have gathered here to bring you a night of good old-fashioned live entertainment. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to this wonderful celebration of our country’s independence!

As we arrived in Iowa, from LA it was impressive to see the growth and developments that have been happening around Kalona. The renovations downtown to the streets and lighting were a wonderful new addition. This year, you will notice when you enter the Shiloh property that 133rd Street from Highway 1 all the way to the up to Shiloh has been paved and the community here is so thankful that it is finally done. Also in the works, are a series of walking trails throughout the county. We are so excited for what the city is doing and look forward to these fun new projects!

American Dreams fireworks will take place on Sunday, July 3rd. In case of rain, an alternative show will be scheduled for Monday, July 4th. Food and family activities will be from 4:00 to 8:30 PM. Live pre-show performances will begin at 7:00 PM and the fireworks show will begin at 9:00 PM in the Shiloh Amphitheater, located at 100 Shiloh Drive, off of Highway 1, just south of Kalona. Bench and lawn seating are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Best viewing is on the benches, but if you prefer to sit on the grass, please remember to bring a blanket. Come early to enjoy a treat from one of our concession stands, or from the local food trucks that will be joining us! Picnic baskets are always welcomed. The doors will close at 8:45 PM. Admission is free and parking is $5.00 per carload.
